This gothic black plated ring features a double-sided ax known as a labrys on either side of the band. In Greek, Labrys is the term for a symmetrical double-bitted ax originally from Crete. The labrys is of the oldest symbols of Greek civilization; to the Romans, it was known as a bipennis. The symbol was commonly associated with the gods.
